The Rosenlund Parsonage Area, located near the center of Jakobstad, is of cultural and historical significance.
It is now a peaceful oasis for today’s hectic people.
The Parsonage, built in 1798, hosts a lunch restaurant year-round, with spaces for events and meetings. The Parsonage, carefully restored in 2014, provides a dignified setting for festive occasions. In front of the parsonage is the large garden of Pastor Aspegren, dating back to the 1760s. It is a formal baroque-style garden created during the Age of Enlightenment.
The magnificent stone barn is part of the parsonage environment. When it was built in 1775, it was one of the most modern and largest in Finland. Today, the stone barn houses the Pedersöre Local Heritage Museum, with its representative collections.
Rosenlund still forms a living, cohesive 18th-century cultural and historical environment, unique in the entire Nordic region.
